Dr. Mullins

Meet our staff

Dr. Samantha Mullins founded North Central Texas Foot and Ankle in 2014 with her husband, Dr. Ricky Childers. She is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Board Qualified in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Mullins is a native Texan and was raised in Colleyville. She enjoyed playing soccer as a young girl, played for Grapevine High School where she graduated, and continued playing at Texas A&M University on several co-ed and indoor teams. She suffered a severe ankle sprain while in college and was treated by a local podiatrist. He enlightened her on the possibilities of a career as a podiatrist and she spent several months shadowing him in the office. Dr. Mullins graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition.

Following graduation, Dr. Mullins moved to San Francisco, California where she attended the California College of Podiatric medicine and received the Phillip Gardner Award for Outstanding Student in Podiatric Medicine. She remained in San Francisco to complete a three year surgical residency program at the San Francisco Bay Area Foot and Ankle Residency Program at Kaiser Permanente. While in training, Dr. Mullins was involved in multiple research projects and co-authored several papers published in the “Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery” and the “Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.”

Dr. Mullins accepted a position with a large multi-specialty group in Sacramento, California, where she practiced from 2008 - 2013. She served in several leadership positions as Vice President of the Sacramento Valley Podiatric Medical Association and on the Academic Affairs Committee for the group from 2011 - 2013.

Dr. Mullins moved home to Texas with her husband and three daughters in 2013. Outside of North Central Texas Foot and Ankle, Dr. Mullins enjoys being with family, cycling, and traveling.
