Dr. Childers elected to continue his training by completing a Foot and Ankle Sports Medicine Fellowship in Redwood City, California, which supports many of the professional and college level athletes in the Bay Area. In addition, Dr. Childers completed two mini fellowships. He was selected for the AO International Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Lugano, Switzerland and the Ilizarov Technique Fellowship for External Fixation in Kurgan, Russia.
After completing his training, Dr. Childers accepted a position at a large multi-specialty group in Sacramento, California, where he practiced from 2006 - 2013. He served as Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento from 2011-2013.
Dr. Childers moved to Texas with his wife, a native Texan, and three daughters to be near family. Outside of North Central Texas Foot and Ankle, Dr. Childers enjoys being with his family, golﬁng, back country skiing, cycling, hunting, and ﬁshing.
